The Grandparents’ Association is the only organisation with a dedicated welfare benefits services for grandparents.  It is run by expert trained advisors, and specialises in welfare advice together with information on small claims and family holidays for those in need.  Our information and advice has been developed to cover all the major financial and benefits issues experienced by grandparents

We have many referrals from Citizen Advice Bureaus and other welfare organisations. In the last year alone the Grandparents’ Association has helped access over £350,000 in benefits due to grandparents.

Small Grants for Kinship Carers

“I would like to say a big thank you for your help with the cooker which was at the end of its life. I can't believe we have gone through 4 years in limbo until we found you.”

The generosity of the Buttle Trust enables The Grandparents’ Association to offer a grant programme for kinship carers experiencing a practical or financial crisis. Families living in poverty in the UK can often lack basic items such as a bed, a cooker, a fridge-freezer or a washing machine. If you are a kinship carer you can find out whether you are eligible for a small grant by contacting us.

It is the Buttle UK's 60th anniversary this year.Their founder Frank Buttle, had a vison to 'launch 1,000 children and young people a year into life'. He died in 1953 leaving £1m with which Buttle UK was established. If you would like to support Buttle in raising funds and celebrating this milestone , please view, www.buttleuk.org/pages/get-involved-give.html

Holidays for kinship carers

"Just to say, thank you very much for arranging a holiday for myself and X. We had a lovely time and it gave us the opportunity of some quality time together."

The Grandparents' Association has been in contact with an organisation that wishes to remain anonymous which wants to offer excellent caravan holidays to grandparent carers who meet the criteria and who live in the UK. Each case is accessed but if you can answer yes to all of the questions below we will do our best to match you to a well deserved break.

Normally available in term dates and school holidays the organisation we use has placed over 2000 families in holidays last year 2011 and this year hopes to increase that figure.
