The Grandparents' Association received 361 referrals last reporting year from citizen advice bureau and other organisations as well as direct and has helped access £267,532.00 for this reporting year 2008/2009.This represents an increase of 10% in unclaimed benefit from the previous year 2007/2008.

The welfare benefits advice line is an effective way of keeping kinshipcarers and grandparents up to date with welfare benefit claims and gives support for those in difficult or complex situations.

The welfare benefits helpline in available - Monday to Friday 10-4 and uses experienced advisors with 22 years experience of dealing with grandparent related money issues.
