Help us to help Grandchildren

Everyone is facing difficult financial times, but although the Association has been successful in obtaining grants recently, we still fall far short of meeting the needs of grandparents for our services. Our website receives over 120k hits per month; our helpline receives some 800 calls each month and, because we cannot afford the necessary resources, 30% of those calls go unanswered. We have been setting up more support groups and grandparent and toddler groups, but we are in no way meeting the need for such groups around the country. We rely upon your support to operate and expand our services. For every £6 raised (with Gift Aid) we can answer another phone call to the advice line. We also need to expand our other support services.

But you can help us to raise some money for the Association. Organising a fundraising or sponsored event may not be so difficult as you think – and they raise a surprising amount of money! Please consider helping us in this way. For example, a sponsored charity walk can raise a lot of money, and is not very difficult to organise with the help of a few enthusiastic friends If you know some musicians, or a choir, perhaps you and they could organise a charity concert. A quiz night can be very worthwhile too.

We can give you advice on how to go about arranging such events, and to give you a little incentive we will give a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates to the person who raises the most money in each quarter.

Every pound we receive really does make a difference. If you would like to make a donation by cash , cheque or credit card, please contact us.

Envelope Giving
We are able to supply you with Gift Aid donation envelopes for any event you may organize and collect gift aid on donations.

Sponsorship Form
If you would like to raise money for The Grandparents Association with an event – just let us know and we can send you some sponsorship forms and will help with advice (see below).

Standing order
A regular donation, can be made by standing order. All you need to do is complete the standing order form and return it to us – we will do the rest. You can change a standing order at any time.

Wills & Legacies
Monies left in wills are an important source of income for The Grandparents Association. Your solicitor or legal adviser will be able to advise you. When making or changing a will it is best to get the advice of a solicitor (see our Solicitors List) . Making a will ensures that those you want to benefit do so.

Gifts in Kind
Instead of giving money to buy needed goods and services, we welcome your gifts in kind. Perhaps you have a room we can use or can sponsor an event.

Celebration Gifts
'Marriage Gifts', ‘Birthday Gifts’, ‘Anniversary Gifts’, are all alternative ways of raising money for us.
Rather than receive gifts on your special day, call us on 01279 428040 and we can provide you with printed cards to give to your guests.

Funeral Gifts
You can make a donation to The Grandparents’ Association in memoriam for someone who has recently passed away. Please call us for further information 01279 428040
