Pilot project to support families affected by imprisonment
An estimated 160,000 UK children have a parent in prison each year and 66% of women and 59% of men in prison have dependent children under 18. The Grandparents’ Association gets a significant number of calls to our helplines from families affected by imprisonment and we were fortunate in securing support from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales for an 18 month pilot. The 18 month project to support families of prisoners in Chelmsford, Holloway, Huntercombe and Pentonville launched in May of 2012. MORE
Please note we currently hold a drop in surgery at Bronzefield Prison on the last Saturday of every month in the Visitors Centre and we are also in the process of arranging a surgery at Highdown Prison.
